On the eve of the festive season, I extend my best wishes to all of you for a safe and joyous New Year. Thank you for being a volunteer or supporting volunteering over the past year.

I would like to give a particularly big shout out to everyone who will be volunteering over the holiday period. Thank you for giving your time to help others enjoy this special time of year.

I continue to feel blessed that I work for an organisation that provides support to volunteer and volunteer involving organisations.

Our work helps grow the capability of individuals and organisations and celebrates the wonderful giving by nearly one million South Australians every year. Thanks to Volunteering SA&NT’s dedicated staff and volunteers for all that they do.

As I look forward to 2025, I am excited about our annual Volunteering Conference and Awards locked in for Thursday 22 May. The conference draft agenda will be released early next year.  

In 2025, our NT Volunteer Awards will move to National Volunteer week and will be hosted by the Chief Minister at Parliament house on Friday 23 May.

In other plans for 2025, we will be expanding our SVA Service Award program to several new secondary schools as we look to build on the success of this great program – so watch this space. 

We also will continue to expand and enhance our website to deliver even more resources and information to support everyone’s volunteer journey.

VSA&NT will be taking a break for the festive season! Our office will be closed from 12pm on Friday 20th December, and will reopen on Monday, 6 January 2025.

VSA&NT has a team of experienced facilitators who offer customised learning and development sessions aimed at anyone who is responsible for the engagement of volunteers within a not-for-profit organisation, club or group. Pick and choose the topics most applicable to your business to create a session to suit your needs.

Depending on your location, some can be delivered online or in person. Member and non-member pricing available.

Spontaneous Emergency & Recovery Volunteers

Become a Spontaneous Emergency & Recovery Volunteer today!

When preparing for, and after a disaster is over, volunteers may be required to assist with recovery.

No specialist skills are required—but if you have any, they could be invaluable. While there’s no formal call for volunteers, you can register your interest to help when needed.

We look forward to continuing to support, grow and celebrate volunteering.
